Tank Subject Training, now available as required in module format.

Our most recently posted class is a substitute class to replace the course that we were contracted to provide thru Fleming.events. They unfortunately cancelled the class so we our providing it direct to the public, at a reduced cost.

 

The course will begin on March 7th and run thru March 10th, 2023. Each day will be only 4 hours long and begin at 9am and run to 1pm, Eastern time.

 

Agenda:

Day One: API 650 – Design and construction of new storage tanks.

Days Two and Three: API 653 – Tank inspection, repair, alteration and reconstruction.

Day Four: Other standards, recommended practices and industry practices.

This replacement course will not be exactly the same as what Fleming was offering but similar in nature and content.

We have also reduced the fee to: $1,450.00 USD.

This two-day course was designed by Mr. John Cornell in 2001 and has been offered many times in various places around the globe. This course covers the basics relating to design, construction, inspection, maintenance,  and operation of API above ground storage tanks. The course will provide a comprehensive overview of the relevant standards for new construction and existing tank inspection, repair, alteration and maintenance.

Subject: Shell Repairs Using Lap-welded Patch Plates.

Includes training on the requirements for spacing, sizing, thickness, location, positioning, forming, and etc..

Description: Approximately 1 1/2-hour of online, LIVE, Instructor led training including homework review.

Subject: Repairs to Existing Tank Bottoms.

Includes training on the requirements for shell slotting, patch sizing and thickness, location to welds, positioning, and etc..

Description: Approximately 1 1/2-hour of online, LIVE, Instructor led training including homework review.

Subject: Repairs to steel non-radiused fixed roofs using steel patches used for atmospheric pressure storage.

Roof repair patch plate sizing and thicknesses and allowable positioning of patches. This is not entirely based upon API 653 and should be used as a guide only. Referance is made to industry standard STI SP031 and also the personal experience of John Cornell, Storage Tank Specialist.

Subject: Determining the Minimum Required Thicknesses for Tank Bottom Plates. $55.00

A short presentation on how to determine what the required current thickness of your tank bottom plates must be so as to ensure they will be in operating condition up until the next out-of-service inspection.

Recall this formula from API 653? - - MRT = (Minimum of RTbc or RTip) – Or (StPr + UPr)
